Duties

Duties are official CIT roles given to staff members or trusted community members.

Some duties are staff-only. Others are community-facing roles that help players, run events, support groups, manage translations, or lead parts of the server.

Overview

Duties are official server roles.

They include things such as:

  • player support
  • translation
  • events
  • law-side leadership
  • criminal-side leadership
  • group management
  • forum management
  • account recovery
  • appeals and complaints handling
  • map work
  • quality-assurance oversight

One person can hold multiple duties at the same time if they qualify.

Main duty groups

Duties in CIT fall into a few broad groups:

  • staff duties
  • community support duties
  • event and media duties
  • law, criminal, and organization leadership duties

Staff duties

The documented staff-side duties and role abbreviations include:

Abbreviation Full name Main role
ARM Account Recovery Manager Validates inaccessible account claims and helps return account access
BAM Ban Appeal Manager Handles bans issued by ex-staff or inactive staff
CM Complaints Manager Regularly checks the complaints board for faster staff responses
DM Duties Manager Assigns duties such as CEM, PC, CB, SO, Head, ARM, Squad Bank, Trial Staff, and Translator
FBM Forum Board Manager Can add, remove, or edit forum boards
FMM Forum Membership Moderator Makes sure membership ranks are given correctly
ME Map Editor Improves the map and fixes map bugs when needed
PAM Punishment Appeal Manager Handles punishment appeals from the community
QAM Quality Assurance Manager Evaluates QA Tester progress and can also handle bug reports if needed
TPM Translation Progress Manager Monitors translation progress and decides who should get translation access
NAS Non Administrative Staff Non-administrative official staff role
Dev Developer Creates and maintains CIT features and systems

Community support duties

The documented community support duties include:

Guide Helps new players and answers questions in game Can be checked with /online guide
Guider Helps non-English-speaking players in their own language in game and on the forum Uses a tools GUI; players can use /helpme <problem> and a Guider can teleport to help
Translator Translates in-game texts, commands, and strings into other languages Uses /translate after being accepted
Community Developer Creates and submits new features, scripts, and content for the server
Quality Assurance Tester Recognized community duty
CITNews Publisher Recognized community duty

Event and media duties

The documented event and media duties include:

Community Event Manager Hosts events such as FFA, Race, HnS, CDF, and Carbomb Use /ce to check active events; /cem is a private chat for CEMs
CIT Radio DJ Runs CIT Radio, hosts radio shows, plays music, and entertains players

Leadership duties

The documented leadership duties include:

Police Chief Supports cops, coordinates law activity, manages APBs and riots, and helps keep professionalism on the law side Can be checked with /online pc
Criminal Boss Guides criminals, organizes activities such as Cop Hunts and riots, and helps new criminals Can be checked with /online cb
State Official Guides civilian, organizes events such as SO chases and mystery boxes, and helps new civilians Can be checked with /online so
Group Level Manager Handles group promotions, demotions, warnings, activity checks, and communication with group leaders Can be checked with /online glm

Duty chat

CIT has a Duties Chat section inside the J chat interface.

Open:

  • J
  • or /tabchat

Then use:

You can control whether duty chats appear in the normal chatbox through:

  • /settings -> Show Duty Chats in Chat Box

How some duties are obtained

State Official

To become a State Official:

  • apply on the forum when the State Official application center is open

State Officials use the:

  • [SO]

tag in their nickname.

Guider

To become a Guider:

  • you must be fluent in a non-English language
  • stay active
  • be willing to help new players

Applications are on the:

Translator

To become a Translator:

  • you need an active forum account
  • apply on the Translators board using the required format

Application format and sticky topics are on the:

Automatic translation tools are not allowed for Translator applications or Translator work.

Community Event Manager

To become a CEM:

  • go to the forum
  • open the Event Management board
  • check if applications are open
  • read the rules there
  • apply when applications are open

Other duty systems

Police Chief, State Official, and Criminal Boss are not applied for through the Community Ranks board. Those are handled by their own teams or boards.

Notes

  • some duties are staff-only
  • some duties are given to trusted community members
  • one player can hold multiple duties at the same time if they qualify
  • not every duty has the same application path
  • not every duty uses a public command
